Fredericka "Freddie" Anderson 1921-2022

An amazing skier, extraordinary teacher and friend passed away 12/19/22.

Founding member of the Professional Ski Instructors of America (1961), and with her husband formed the Schenectady Ski School 1959-2013 starting on the gentle slopes of the Schenectady Municipal Golf Course.

Then in 1964 stationed at Maple Ski Ridge in Rotterdam where her trained instructors taught thousands of ski and snowboard lessons to local families --- "everybody knows Freddie."

She will be remembered for her wit, easy-going attitude and exacting performance standards --"keep your arms and hands out where I can see them."

She took her last ski run at Whiteface Mountain Ski Resort at age 96.

Freddie started skiing at age 3 and in 1938 took ski lessons at Carl Schaefer's Skiland near North Creek, NY while a student at Smith College. Her father, Dr. Woodall, was the on-call physician for all the Snow Trains that came from various destinations to enjoy downhill skiing and other winter sports in the 1930s. "Ski Heil!"

The living world also lost legendary Mike Leach recently.
He coached the dang MSU Bulldogs & won his last game and his first Egg Bowl on Thanksgiving.
Leach discussed being a JD and not ever being a practicing lawyer for The Ole Miss Law Skool.
Grisham graduated from the Ole Miss law school, practiced law for a bit, then went on to write some good books,
Leach went to practices where how football was played changed.

RIP Ken Block.
He died snowmobiling in Utahh.
Partner in WTX speed with Pastrana.
