If You Could Only Ski in One NWS CWA...

Haha where did they go?

I guess if you are cashing in on the popularity your can't really complain about the new people.
They went to Scottsdale.I vote for the RIW. Around Wyoming a popular bumpersticker in the 90's was "Wyoming Native" my buddy would ask, in his best North Jersey accent, "oh yeah, what tribe" other popular bumperstickers were "Please let there be another boom, I promise not to piss it away this time" and "Would the last person to leave please turn out the lights". Locals all shared the LDS faith and about 6 common surnames. You didn't really want to be a member of that club...although they did control all the water rights and most of the land!

MC I don't have the motivation to go back to the archives to find it, but I thought you had a specific destination in mind out west.
Nah. My plan was: use the van to find a destination (but leaning towards being near my brother in Tahoe)

That's how it was when I moved from NYC to Chapel Hill, NC in the early 1970s. That was just as the migration to the Sun Belt, including the Triangle, was starting in earnest. My mother was ahead of the folks from the northeast who decided central NC was a great place to be retired. There are four seasons, mountains or beach a few hours drive away, and no snow to shovel. As a retiree you just wait a few days until it melts. ;)
Had a good job offer in the research triangle park area in the late 80s.
Ended up staying in CNY. I’ve yet to regret staying.
