ICE v Electric: Cost and Emissions

Sheep helped golf courses get started in Scotland.
Their fur makes nice winter clothes and blankets.
Some folks even like to eat them to boot.

Demo of Tesla self-driving mode . . . in Australia. The driver testing the system out is the mother-in-law of a guy who does videos about his experience with Tesla cars.

My transition from petroleum continues. Someone totaled my wife's paid off 11 year-old subie (no one was in our car, the most important thing!). We ended up getting a good deal on a 5 year old bolt with low mileage, including only 8,000 miles on the battery (it was replaced with the very solid 2023 chemistry battery) after the recall.

Because of our solar set up, our combo expense on fueling two vehicles should be south of $500 per year - all from charging the R1s on road trips. The bolt will be a local commuter.

I don't think I will end up getting an electric heat pump due to a bunch of practical reasons specific to my house, but my hope is that i don't ever buy gasoline again. Good stuff.

PS -- I got coal rolled by a Ram today, again. Not sure why it always seems to be Rams. I just try to be chill about it and think about what in their life motivates them to coal roal a rando . . . .

I had to google that - wtf!?!?! I've seen it before but didnt know it was actually an intentional thing...good lord

I drive a diesel Ram, have for the last 20 years and don’t understand the whole “rolling coal” thing. Just makes you look like an idiot IMO.

No joke. Needless to say it never happened once to me in my 12 year old CRV. When I got the R1s, it probably happened like 10x in the first month (lots of home depot Rams on Long Island). Hadn't happened for a while, but to be fair, I drove further east for a car dealer. Nothing against concealed carry (not touching that with a ten foot poll), but for example that county has concealed carry allowed. A bit more rams, probably a lot less Rivians. Maybe that's why it happened - I could have been his first Rivian (?). Who the heck knows. My view is people should just live their best life. It just had not happened to me in a while so I kind of was shocked.

I have never once got smoked out. Maybe this guy did once on route 7 but he did a horrible job. Just a little puff.
Camp how do you roll coal? Put it in neutral and rev it?
