ICE v Electric: Cost and Emissions

For sure!
Man-o-man do I feel green whenever I pull the trigger on my battery powered chainsaw. It has nothing to do with it being a better tool for the job.
There is a sweet spot where the batteries make sense. Good for throwing in the truck and not have the smell of gas. When taking a tree down they are good a for limbing. The echo is doing the real heavy work. Kinda like the sound to... Think I'll listen to jackal right now

Totally agree.
Talk about sound. My buddy has a Stihl MS 500I, fuel injected chainsaw. That thing friggin rips! Better have your ear protection on around that one.

I just find it uncomfortable. Could be the particular ear muffs I have. The 3Ms are comfortable and block out ALL the outside noise
@Ripitz and @Brownski

Thanks for the help guys. I got the 3M and wore earbuds under them today while I mowed the lawn. Not uncomfortable and they worked great. Very quiet and easy to listen to music at normal levels. Thanks for saving me about $60😁

Just a quick note on how lacking Ford is on (EV) strategy: after trying to go premium and broad (Lightening and Mustang EVs) they are apparently pivoting to a 30,000 EV truck. Great, except the amazon backed company is coming in at 25,000. I do not get how Ford makes corporate decisions and planning . . . . PS Camp could give us the stats, but I think Ford typically leads the league in recall rates (not in a good way).

Rant done.

Keyboard player in our band has a Ford Mustang Mach-E and is quite pleased with it. I can't speak to any recall stats, but it carries a metric shit-ton of gear.

I'm not convinced the Slate will be popular outside of utility vehicles for local business (kind of like the niche that Kei trucks are finding). The devil will be in the specs but if it can deliver 300+ miles range, and the interior be somewhat decent I think it could be a success.

If you're a two car family you don't need 300 miles. You plug in every night. They are perfect for the daily driver with a gasser in the garage for vacations.

Ford is changing everything around. They're going for the same type of platform that rivian uses and Tesla uses. EVS are still coming along. They're not dead yet even though they're trying to be killed
