As much as I'd love to stick a finger in the eye of big oil, those 4 reasons you listed are on my list of like 8 reasons why I wouldn't buy an EV yet.
As you may recall I just replaced an 11 year old Crv with 105k miles on it with a new Passport. That 11yr crv still ran as good as day 1 and was still in superb condition inside and out. I didn't take a big depreciation hit either. I bought my 2025 Passport with confidence that it will deliver unprecedented reliability and will still have great trade in value after 10 years. An ev would not give me the same long term value and probably not the same reliability. I don't drive enough to offset upfront costs of an ev with gas savings.
I love the powertain tech of new cars like EVs and hybrids. I'm grateful to those buying them for many different reasons.
If I were to get an EV I'd lease it. But I'm done leasing since I expect to keep my cars 10+ years.
Love my new Passport. It's like a big CRV which I still think is one of the best cars ever made
