I really dislike a lot of the changes at Belle over the last 5 or so years, but the snowmaking is silly. They were blowing snow mid afternoon today and it was nice to ski on right out of the gun. Not to many years ago blowing anything in those temps would have been unimaginable. You may be right about overall capacity, the giant open area around Broadway at Hunter is probably equal in acreage to several Belleayre trails. But even if you are, it seems like a distinction without a difference.I'd like to see a comparison of capacity. It may be as good "in effect" but I'd be surprised if the capacity is equal.
I remember, about 5 years ago, Hunter went from 0% terrain to 100% in 9 days when it was cold the entire time. You'd probably know better than I if Belle could do that now.I really dislike a lot of the changes at Belle over the last 5 or so years, but the snowmaking is silly. Don't be so sure - the old WW2 Hunter pumps might not meet the Vail Efficiency Levels. They seemed to have taken them out of service.Right. But that doesn't mean that their capacity has changed.
