Greek Peak Conditions

Thanks for sharing this!

We're lucky to have our little airport. It seems quite busy, actually. There's several in and out of there on the daily. One dude even has a jet.
Most of the business is the flight school there. Jim who owns it is an awesome guy and a very thorough instructor. Got my instrument rating with him and highly recommend for anyone in the area looking to learn to fly.

There's actually a couple Jets at Cortland. One is a Citation Bravo owned by a major accounting company based out of Cortland. Other one is an Eclipse 500 owned by another local who flies it himself.

There's Jim's Pitts Special red and white bi-plane too. I'm sure you've seen it up doing aerobatics in the evenings. He normally takes it out after lessons are done for the day. The person in the hangar next to me is also the former editor for Flying Magazine. It is a great little airport with a great pilot community and very well run by the county.

This morning was actually really, really nice. I got there around 9:30 and stayed for a couple of hours. Some of the shred the nighters were bombing straight down from the top. But I managed to not get hit and had a lot of fun skiing Karyatis to Kristy's. Kristy's was sublime early and just starting to get a bit slushy when I left at 11:15.

How are the ten people that started the challenge doing?
Dunno. I plan on being there tomorrow at 10 to find out and give a donation.

Lots of teenagers ramped up. I rode up with a guy who said that he and his wife planned on doing the whole thing. I am pretty sure that there were more than ten, but you may have counted differently than I did.

Actually, I think it was only a $30 donation to participate, assuming that you are a season pass holder.

I was just looking at the web cam, and they are still going. Kudos to the lifties and ski patrol who will be working through the night.

My bad only only $150 to participate. Great job for those getting paid and getting compensated to work.
