Gore Mountain Conditions

Are you capable of skiing without your tinfoil hat on?

What is with the conspiracy theories about the Ski Bowl and Burnt Ridge being solely to blame for all operational shortcomings elsewhere on the mountain. They've made snow on every single summit trail except Rumor. They're so far ahead of any other year in my season pass history, and you still have a problem with the snowmaking. Acting like they are behind on snowmaking elsewhere on the mountain just because Burnt Ridge and the Ski Bowl saw snowmaking prior to mid January, when they're actually in a similar or better place than years past, despite having so much more terrain open is horseshit and you know it. Stick to complaining about the lodge screw up and not opening all the areas 7 days a week.
Would you talk to this person face to face like that?

You're still a little twerp with a bunch of growing up to do. And, yes. I'd say that right to your face.

Not like you've ever added anything of substance to any conversation. I'd say it to anyone's face in-person.

I've been on this forum for almost 13 years, so I'm old enough to remember when everyone was complaining that Burnt Ridge and the Ski Bowl weren't open enough. Now that they are open, people are complaining that they did in fact open them, and scapegoating every operational shortcoming on them, including claims that the mountain will have to close after 48 hours above freezing. I just don't understand how it's possible to hate part of your mountain that much.

There is still room for improvement, specifically having both areas open 7 days a week. But the biggest hurdle, being able to make snow on them within a reasonable timeframe, has already been cleared.

My best day of the year maybe the season. I got to enjoy this great day with both of my girls. We were only missing one piece and I will call him SiL2 SnBjr. He reads all the time but won't post. We found knee deep powder as well as incredible lightly covered cord. I bitch about Gore but usually to people close, there was no bitching today. We had several Harv sightings. My goal is to be your retired neighbor by the time I reach your age! Life is good and a spring skiing day tomorrow. Pray we make it thru the weekend...I'll be back Monday

The mountain should hire Sno as a consultant. He seems to know as much as anyone. And yes, I have been here the whole 13 years he has been posting since he was in high school. He has grown up.
Just because you know something doesn't mean you can do it.
ORDA is an excellent example of that.

I think the consultant firm in the luger's' proposal don’t know squat about skiing and ORDA’s Ski3 bumps. So there’s that.

I’d trust Sno’s assessment/report more than anything glossy the firm put together. He might even know more about zippy coaster installation&maintenance than they do to boot. Clarkson is a good engineering school.

The proposal for the consultant was tabled. In practice, IF it were to be approved, then ORDA would send out requests for proposal. That's the way it's supposed to work, anyway. Maybe they've already talked to someone? Who knows. I'm against the idea of a consultant, having worked at one place that used them and was a f'n madhouse.

Does anyone know the date of ORDA's next board meeting?

Buckle up! Here it comes.

Backwoods

❤️ backwoods

I love Backwoods.

They actually dropped the rope on Barkeater. I took 20 turns in there and bailed out to Backwoods. It was just better skiing.
