Gore Mountain Conditions

The problem with the Gondi is it doesn’t go to the top of Gore Mountain.
Foxlair and Ruby just opened, ... Tain’t a black diamond open on the whole amalgamation.

Hopefully this cold snap allows top ridge, straight brook and/or high peaks lifts a reason to spin. Tis Christmastime week...
Thank yer snowmakers if ya see em. It ain’t their fault.
Would love to see a bathroom and maybe a waffle hut on the top of the Gondi. It always seemed odd to me that there was nothing up there.

We had those discussions on the lift today, Gore skiers always have opinions on what should open, who should ski where, where the guns should go next...ahh how awful things are... but we keep coming back. They had Chati lit up today. Topridge opened. Decent for a first groom. I heard Pine Knot opened but can’t confirm. Cold as hell but only rode the Gondi twice and once it didn't stop several times. We actually stopped it once...The thingy on top wasn't closing the doors correctly so every time that happened they had to do it manually. fast and firm but not too bad.
This dominates our chairlift discussions, why is this open, why isn't that? Do they not have enough staff? That looks like a it has plenty of snow. Look at all the tracks from the poachers... haha. Keeps your mind off the wind tunnel on AE2

I love my 96mm skis, and they are my biggest boards.

I have learned to ski those 96mms in just about anything. Still I have been in situations where fatter would have been easier.

Here's one from Belle. I actually kind of rocked it, but it wasn't easy. I feel like you have to learn to turn below the surface.

I bet many skiers here have been in deep-ish grabby snow, where the snowboarders were killin it.

So while I agree with you I also disagree. 🤠

Septic isn't easy on mountain summits?

Totally agree, what are you accomplishing on the east skiing with something more than 100 underfoot?
That's not the point. A lot of skiers are on 100+ boards regardless that they are not really what you need most of the time.
i have a pair of 100+ for western trips and powder days, and it would be nice to fir them in the baskets. This is just a case of ORDA not writing the spec correctly, and the vendor sticking them with their obsolete inventory.

I assumed that's why there is no plumbing at the summit, top o' straightbrook.

I have heard that when the gondola and trails were first built on Bear, the plan was to build some kind of lodge there (if it was to replace Saddle Lodge, that would have made Gore even more gondola-centered). That’s likely why they bulldozed such a large area. That ship probably sailed when it was found to be all bedrock. Tough place for a septic large enough for bathrooms and food service.
