Based on Monday and Tuesday, I think only High Peaks will be skiable by Saturday or even earlier. There’s a big bare spot developing on Sunway between the Saddle and Wild Air. If they can keep that open they might make it through the weekend.
Hullabaloo, Lower Darby, Open Pit and Hawkeye are holding up and maybe they’ll reopen Chaty but the bottom of Headwaters is getting muddy. The flat parts on the top of Cloud got sticky early yesterday.
There’s lots of snow but hard to connect it all.
Maybe I’ll head up for closing day.
It was cloudy cool and raining/grapple until around 11 and then it was bluebird and I had to head out for work. There was a significant amount of loss on the lower mt, especially sunway from quicksilver down.
It was 71 at my HQ this afternoon, so it will be interesting to see whatt the hill looks like tomorrow. My advice is anyone that wants to get to some turns in, get up here because it's going fast!
really fast. Today was a beautiful summer day of skiing. Rumor, Lies and Chati were my laps of choice. That WROD on skiers' right of Lies is getting nasty. Topridge is toast. Pine knot to Straightbrook may not last because there is very little snow at the top of bear to reach Foxlair, Pine Knot and Ruby. Let's see how creative they can get but I feel this weekend will be it for Gore. I hope I am wrong and will be back on Saturday. Trying for Belle tomorrow. Just saw Belle is throwing in the towel Saturday.
