Gore Mountain Conditions

We got about 2 inches last night but it stopped snowing around 9 and woke up to no new snow. They it started coming down decently hard around 8am and kept snowing all morning, maybe another 2-3 fell at the mountain. Conditions were really nice, like TomCat said, snow was heavy. You needed some decent wax to get moving, but that just meant it didn't get pushed around as much and even by 2pm it was still mostly packed powder conditions. Tomorrow should be really nice in the morning. Fingers crossed Burnt Ridge can open tomorrow.

They really turned lies into an obstacle course with the whales, but it was fun. Decent crowd watching the big air finals.

Any new snow?
From report for tomorrow = Saturday.
"We have fresh natural snow accumulations all across the mountain. 4" of new snow fell on Friday and we have several more opportunities in this week's forecast. Today's weather is partly sunny with a high near 33 and calm wind. Look for machine grooming and packed powder conditions on 43 trails to get your snow day started. We have 12 lifts planned open today including the Burnt Ridge Quad servicing Echo, Cedars, The Gully, and Hedges. Lies and Topridge will remain untouched by grooming for our awesome experts. Snowmaking continues on Sagamore, Backwoods, Eagle’s Nest, Paradox, and the Pipeline."
Emphasis added.
WUG ends Sunday.

Do they have enough snow to groom Lies? I always forget how rocky it is. Good to see snowmaking on the new trail and a move towards the ski bowl. Hope to see both by next weekend.

Yesterday was 3-4” heavy snow, some nice skiing. The place was empty. Doesn’t look like enough snow on lies to groom out to me, still lots of big rocks to go around
