Gore Mountain Conditions

I agree. Just skied two great days, with predictable conditions and good company. Absolutely no complaints.
What a contrast in comparison to only 20 years ago; the saddle was usually a skating rink and much of the mountain could be skied off by noon with ice emerging in the usual locations. And that was when snow actually fell from the sky!
Enough of the pity party for Pete’s sake.

Only thing to bitch at right now is mother nature....not much we can do about that...

The mountain got 1-2" overnight which was fun to ski on. Looks like they blew a lot of snow on Hullabaloo, Twister, Echo, etc that the are waiting to groom out until after tomorrow's weather. I forgot to look at Lies when I skied by, but they have blown some there as well.

I got to the mountain at 8:30 and was able to park in the top lot. Security was annoying at worst. They definitely rifled through my boot bag. I think the line will get backed up over the weekend. The mountain was empty and there didn't seem to be much in the way of WUG spectators. There was a heavy police presence for sure. Never waited in a lifeline today.

2" up top and about an inch here at HQ, temps are hovering at 32 and it's raining. Think positive and carry on...

I just discovered that WUG events from Gore and Lake Placid are on ESPN+, a paid subscription streaming service. Both live events and replays of past ones are being streamed. I borrowed my son’s password and am watching the snowboard cross semis and finals from Gore that happened yesterday.
The events don’t show on the ESPN+ home page. Do a search on World University Games.

Wow - no crowds. I guess ppl stayed away because of games . . .

There didn’t seem to be much competition today. I think they were off. Saw a few practice runs.
