Gore Improvements Summer 2021

As to LS TBD what they do, but right now it's basically a mandatory send over the frozen waterfall. My guess is that won't be the case when they are done with it.

Respectfully, I don’t see the HP chair being a lift of choice for families and beginner skiers. Few of them skate across Wood In unless absolutely necessary or they are lost. This has always been a deterrent for them and those troublesome snowboarders. There may have been some increased traffic this year due to the capacity restrictions at the gondola, but I would think that would change once the world gets back to normal. Although it would be nice if they shut the gondi down for a couple of hours each day to thin the herd!

It think that changed a little last year because COVID. In the past, AE2 rarely opened early except on the busiest days. Last year it ran all the time, and NYSEF groups were not allowed to ride the gondola. It also seemed like Wood In was kept in better condition than in the past. That and the new lift added a lot of traffic to the HP side of the summit. It will be interesting to see what happens if all the lifts return to full capacity this year. I hope they continue to run the AE2 all the time. That's a good route to the top and way better for skiers whose skill limit is below the Saddle.

Be careful what you wish for. The worst lift lines I've ever seen at Gore were cause by gondola shut downs.

Maybe "ruining" is a the wrong word. How about Disneyfing?

I don't think the new High Peaks chair was an improvement. It's brought so many beginner and average skiers to the top of the mountain who do not need to be there. Between the lower mountain, the north chair pod, and the ski bowl Gore had more than enough beginner and intermediate terrain and didn't need to dumb down, and crowd out the upper mountain.
I am trying to remember when paying of a full lift ticket excluded you from terrain...... I can't.
For example as I came down the final pitch of Hawkeye a ~3 year old girl comes snowplowing right next to the treeline on skiers right of Headwaters. I had a split second to react and luckily missed her by inches.
Almost whacking a 3 year old at a trail intersection going from a black trail to a blue trail is all on you. Maybe you need to stay off the upper mountain.
Then waiting on the liftline for SBQ another family fails to load, kid, skies, poles go everywhere, 2 minute hold up.
Right, because we were are all perfect lift loaders right out of the womb. I am pretty sure you have had a loading incident in your skiing history. I know I have.
I'm sorry but these families don't belong up there. If Gore wanted to improve the beginner and intermediate experience they should have replaced the North Quad with a high speed detachable.
The lift is too short to need a HSQ. By the way - Cloud is a green trail despite its blue designation. You can also recolor green Lower Cloud and Upper and Lower Wood In and they all lead to the HPQ.

The families and inexperienced skiers have been up top and all of the places where "they shouldn't be", for as long as the lifts have been spinning. The only reason that the top of the mountain was so busy last season, and the mountain as whole, was because of covid and the abnormally high number of skiers visiting Gore everyday.

Gore absolutely did not install the quad to bring more beginners to the top, that's just silly.

New for Hunta North (Gore) in 2022:

-Base, Mid, and Summit station Starbucks so Joey can always catch that cup of Joe after schlepping Aiden and Brantly from south Jersey. Bonus points for disposing said cup under the lift instead of the garbage or for traveling 90+ mph up the Northway in Tahoe on summer tires.

-Premium parking ski valet. No longer will it be necessary to juggle your skis, poles, moon boots, and iPhone while updating your TikTok/Reels/Story. Now Karen can yell at some 15 year old employee to not scratch her new Salomons she bought for skiing Vail. Bonus points for over-enunciating "Vail" and telling the valet to get a better attitude as a "tip."

-Shorter lift lines. No, not less people or quicker loading times but a physically shorter lines so the thirteen year old behind you fully gouges your ski tails. Bonus points for a full binding release before even making it to the lift.

-The free parking lot has been relocated to Peaceful Valley Road.

-Complimentary patrol snowmobile rides down the mountain after realizing that Rumor/Lies is too icy. Ski patrol toboggans will now have heated seats with twelve way lumbar support.

-All tables in the lodges will be reserved. Free tables will be located on Peaceful Valley Road. A bouncer/doorman will be instituted to ensure no one brings in outside food or beverages... and to enforce the dress code/face control. No duct tape clothing allowed.

-All lifts will play the soundtrack from Frozen. All lifties will be required to dress up as a snowman.

-The Papa Muntz statue will be removed.

funny but Joey doesn't live in south Jersey...
