Gore Improvements Summer 2021

I found the specs for the old lift on the a Riblet Tramway Company page. The spec runs from 800 to 1200 skiers per hour while the new quad is rated at 2400 as configured.

With the increase in capacity of the HP chair they need more trail capacity on that side. Lower Steilhang hasn't been open often in recent years, but now it's just another groomer, Just one more reason the HP replacement is a disaster.

mm
L.O.L...

One has to wonder what the glade potential is be on both sides of the new Lower Steilhang. I noticed there is a service road that ties in on the flats, very convenient. Maybe the addition of these would be redemption for the lift debacle?

Bummer to hear they are ruining LS.

Any word on trail remediation for the dark side "glade"? Are they cleaning up the boulders and logs?

I am the Darkside Shaman, how dare thee call my sacred ground with "The ruining"???
Do not take worthy the spouting of the discontented one called mm, he is just another bitter soul :ROFLMAO:
And yes, there has been a remediation of the liftline of lift 6, but as we saw last year in low base snow year, everything covered up fine. Don't fall in to the doom and gloom of mm and other doommasters, all is fine with the darkside, for now... o_O:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Like.

I've been assured we will "dig" the changes to the Dark Side. I guess we will see.

My opinion: Gore is awesome and will continue to be so.

Maybe "ruining" is a the wrong word. How about Disneyfing?

I don't think the new High Peaks chair was an improvement. It's brought so many beginner and average skiers to the top of the mountain who do not need to be there. Between the lower mountain, the north chair pod, and the ski bowl Gore had more than enough beginner and intermediate terrain and didn't need to dumb down, and crowd out the upper mountain.

For example as I came down the final pitch of Hawkeye a ~3 year old girl comes snowplowing right next to the treeline on skiers right of Headwaters. I had a split second to react and luckily missed her by inches. Then waiting on the liftline for SBQ another family fails to load, kid, skies, poles go everywhere, 2 minute hold up.

I'm sorry but these families don't belong up there. If Gore wanted to improve the beginner and intermediate experience they should have replaced the North Quad with a high speed detachable.
