Garden Harvest

Our garden is doing well this year and we’re also working on developing a second “berry only” garden with blueberries, strawberries, a couple random wild raspberry and blackberry plants I transplanted from our local park, that I plan to mulch/acidify the soil with all the pine needles we have on one side of our property that I can’t stand (gutter clogging). My kids love the garden and are learning a lot about it, I hope to pass the knowledge and tradition along to them that my grandparents passed to me.

The non-wild blueberry was developed in NJ not far from where we live so I’ve gotten really into the idea of having a solid amount of blueberries established…garden state!
Nice!
Don’t know how acidic yer soil is but we go thru this stuff.
For yer blueberries ya can apply with a hose-reservoir-thingy🍺but I just sprinkle the stuff around the bases before watering or rain coming in. I’ve given ‘em 3 doses so far this year.

I’m finally about done picking them this year. My golf game improved during blueberry picking season. Yoga probably got its start from pickin berries.

Nice work! I'm jealous, with a rainy, busy May and June I never got my garden in this season... first time in 30+ years and really miss having real tomatoes, cucs and beans. that will not happen again

Mmmm they're our favorite.

During this Gobian Desert of a summer :

We start every morning with a bowl of COLD oatmeal a quarter cup loaded with Red white and blue ( strawberry, banana and blueberry) with a pinch of blueberry granola ,pinch of honey and raisin granola, pinch of mixed granola topped with a pinch of chopped walnuts add cup of cold water store in fridge overnight......it's mondo tasty and energizes yer start to the day

And let me tell ya it opens the gate to " chocolate speedway" later in the day ....no need for rectum rockets 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

PS : in the cold weather stick it in the microwave. Yumm

All kinds of good tomatoes here.

Been giving lots to friends & neighbors & roasting/freezing lots too.

It is a great Fall. We have cherry tomatoes that we finally use (they grow like weeds). We have made batches of sauce like once every two weeks this past month and should be able to do another this weekend. My Polish wife’s sauce’s may be better than my Italian mother’s was. Here is a roast picture pre-blending.

Was supposed to bring a bag of red raspberries to one of the boys I golf with.
By mistake took out a bag of dried roasted cherry tomatoes.
Noticed it when I got to the course last week.
Told him after the round, "I got some good news & bad news, whatdaya want 1st?”
He said. "give me the bad news”. ..."Didn’t bring raspberries. Good news is I have dried roasted cherry tomatoes and fresh cherry tomatoes."
He tried one, liked them & took the whole bag along with some fresh cherry tomatoes. The fresh ones are like tomato candy..

The Ochs Farm Market folks (The Veggie Boys, ... & girls) put a utube up yesterday on how they can tomato sauce. Their farm is in central NE Pa.
Enjoy.
