Fast Tracks: Paying to Cut the Line

Skiing is already expensive
Exactly. That's why it surprises me that some are so irate over this.
It's easy for me to say that though because my lil home hill isn't effected by this. Shit, I get on the lift at 7:30 and have my laps in by 10:30, when the masses show up. I don't wait in line anywhere. I have issues with that. I ski early, I go to the bar early. When either one of those places get crowded, I'm out. ✌️

Skiing is already expensive. If you are one guy and it’s one day maybe an extra $50 isn’t a big deal. If you are there for multiple days or you are with your family that could really add up. Not everyone can afford that. Those passes are not only expensive but they are also limited, so no, not everyone can buy one. While some people get on quicker others must now wait longer. No one likes waiting in lines and no one likes a snake. Never have never will.
It is. But if taking money from people's pockets who can afford it keeps the price down for the masses isn't that worth the trade off?

I have to chuckle at the thought what if? What if everyone buys a
“Fast “ pass . The line will be no faster Lol

The whole concept seems slimy .Well I’ll know who to leave stuck in a ditch on the way home .

Star-bellied sneetches.

Total sales are limited.

Folks in the PacNW are not happy with Powdr adding Fast Tracks to Bachelor. Supposed to cover essentially all but the beginner lifts.

Where was the Senator when Mt Bachelor offered paid parking areas? The parking is on Federal land also. What a bunch of nonsense.

That's not the trade off. You are assuming that there is some amount of money that will satisfy Powdr. They will never ask the question "do we have enough?" It's always "how do we get more?"

The optimistic view is that the added revenue will attract more investment and improve the experience for everyone. Unless this is just extracting as much cash as possible before climate change and demographics crush the business model.

I'd much rather they make that revenue by raising prices across the board on everyone, then have an on mountain caste system.
Do you also disagree with somebody paying more for better seats at concerts/sports/plays? How about flying with economy/economy plus/business/first class? Paying to get up the mountain without waiting in line has been around for decades.

FYI - there is already a caste system - guides/private lessons. How does this not bother you the same way? At least with the fast tracks you can join the line cutting for $50 vs hiring a guide all day for $350.

Because of none of those examples effect my experience. Someone sitting in first class or courtside doesn't negatively effect me in coach or the nosebleeds. Adding a line cutting option for the rich detracts from time on snow for everyone else.
