Driving in NY

I had a nondescript silver 91 caprice for awhile back when every cop car on the road was either a caprice or a crown Vic. It was a great car but by far the best part of owning it was the way people got out of my way as I came up behind them in the left lane. It was like the parting of the Red Sea at times.

It is the law in NYS to get in the left lane when passing an emergency vehicle on the shoulder. Cruise control is my pet peeve also. Always use mine.

I use the cruise a lot too. Probably too much.

I like not worrying about a ticket. Speed limit 65, cruise on 72, make decent time, no worries.

Perhaps an unpopular opinion: NY drivers are actually pretty good. Even NYC drivers, where there's a completely different and completely unwritten code, are generally pretty good (although one shitty driver can screw the whole thing up spectacularly). When I go elsewhere, I can't believe how bad they drive. Florida is the worst of all.

Lately, there seem to be more folks driving well over 85 when the speed limit is 65 or 70 in NC. Reminds me of driving in Quebec.
