Yep. I grew up eating bear with my family up north. Well done is the way to go. Texture and taste is very similar to beef, but I think it has a little sweetness to it. I've never had bear that I thought tasted gamey. Venison has more of a gamey taste imo.

Went to a camp on the West Canada Creek a while ago in the fall and there was a pile of guts left on the bank near it.
Friend who owed it thought somebody had arrowed a deer and left the pile just to piss him off.
He brought the liver home to give it to his beagle who wouldn’t touch it and he couldn’t figure out why.
Later found out one of his friends had shot a bear down the Creek, cleaned it at the camp and left the guts for him as a joke.
Don’t eat carnivore's livers, it can be toxic and a dog won’t eat it.
