Catamount Conditions

I stopped by Catamount in June 2021 and wandered around the base. I was on the way to meet up with a friend for lunch in Great Barrington.

I wonder what happened to the framed lift tickets? I found one from Massanutten back in June 2018

I have the season pass here. Went Thursday and Friday. Just looked at the live cams and the place has less people today than either of those days. Same thing on the Berkshire East cam, the place is empty. Pretty bummed couldn't make it today. Going BE tomorrow so hoping everyone doesn't decide to show up then instead.

The lot is full but folks are spending as much time warming up in the lodge or their vehicles as they are skiing. It was -1 when we arrived and 4 when we left at 1 PM

I just recently got back into skiing. I really like the place and its by far the closest mountain to me. I am curious what you think of the place as a more seasoned skier? For next year was thinking of downgarding to the midweek pass since my schedule allows a good amount of Monday thru Friday skiing, and then adding a Ski3 or Ikon for bigger mountains.

Sounds like a good plan. If you are just looking for diversity, check if you can do the Indy add-on with a midweek pass. If you want bigger, then Ikon or Ski3 might make sense.

I like Catamount. It’s got enough vertical and a little bit of everything in terms of terrain. Not crowded most of the time. Nice people…

I was at both on Sunday and he is correct it was a total mess. Basically one lift working at BE by noon so we left and hit Catamount since it’s on the way home, and lines were somehow even worse. First time I ever described a day skiing as a shitty day. Nice to know they are fully aware and plan to fix it

The honesty is refreshing
Yes ... This can really make the difference between success & failure.

Most customers understand that sometimes ... shit happens ... Taking responsibility for failures is something that most businesses don't do.

Of course, if ... shit happens ... becomes the norm, that's another story!
