I can rent a ride on double drum roller for a day for $175I think I'll rent a little roller and do it myself.
Not bad and I certainly won't need it for even that long.

When I first bought this place (13 yrs ago), I spread out 7 loads of crusher run. For 10 years it was awesome. Now, after 10 years of mud seasons most of it has worked into the clay we have around here. I'm hopeful that because this stuff is bigger it will eventually mix in and turn rock hard. Time will tell.....LoLThe crusher run just needed driven on (no roller). It’s solid now & better than asphalt. Sometimes in the spring I gotta throw back whatever the snow plow pushes out but that ain’t hard work.
Those piles are pretty big Harv. Maybe get that machine for a week. If I lived closer I’d come over and give you some free beer advice. My pile is — I think — bigger
Since The UpState gets 2 mud seasons per year (spring & fall), 10 years of mud seasons equals 20 mud seasons. When I first bought this place (13 yrs ago), I spread out 7 loads of crusher run. For 10 years it was awesome. Now, after 10 years of mud seasons...Time will tell.....LoL

Interesting turn of events.Get someone to roll it if you can. In next summer's heat it should compact almost like paved macadam.
