Building a House with Wood

Without a tow package I think the Mav tows 1500 or 2000.

It's ~25 miles from Warrensburg to HQ so delivery will be about 400.

225 / day to rent it. If I work 8 hours a day it's like 30-50 an hour, waaay cheaper than whay my GC was charging me for running a maching. Even if I suck.

I was thinking of trying to get it done in 3 or 4 days. Reasonable? I've got 3 loads of topsoil and four loads of sand. Not sure wtf the sand is for, but I'll put it under the soil.

Also got a "pile" of driveway stone i should spread, Tahawas tailings.

Looks like rain all next week, I'm assuming topsoil is harder to work with if it's wet so I may wait until the following week.

How about a small loader with a york rake?
I would think that would be a better application than a skid steer for spreading topsoil.
I was just gonna move the soil and spread it with a rake. Mistake?

I'm gonna have to google york rake to see what it is.

Was thinking the bucket. What else should I get?
Not sure what quantities these loads are. I would mix the sand in with the topsoil as a top dressing. Ideally topsoil is either covered by a tarp in a pile or spread and covered with seed and chopped straw or mulch. You might not get germination now but dormant seeding is better than nothing. The power rake (also called a Harley rake) works awesome on those machines. You can grade everything nice and wipe out your tracks when you’re done.

I definitely want to get seed down to take advantage of the spring. I'm glad you think it's a good, or not a bad, idea.

Honestly I was thinking of the Dingo just to move the material, am I crazy to plan to spread it with a regular rake?

It depends on how much material you’re getting, how big of an area you’re covering and what your timeframe is.

I've got 3 loads of top soil and 4 loads of sand and one load of driveway stone.

I realize a load is somewhat vague, I'm not sure of the size of the truck.

I'll take a pic and post it.

If I had to guess, I'd say the area to be covered is 3-4000 square feet.

Edit to add pics, not sure if it helps:
