Belleayre Conditions

Pretty crowded up at the B today, talked to an employee who said they did 5K skier visits yesterday and that today was likely similar but possibly a bit less. Lots of ski club groups kept things interesting, snow left plenty to be desired and things got pushed off quick. Lines on the gondola disappeared around lunch and didn't come back. Mohawk into Lower Belleayre Run was holding up really well compared to just about everything else so I stuck with that for most of the day.

Woah 5k? I think in past years season daily record was like 4k.

The guy I talked to provided some good context, apparently at a summer concert this past year they maxed out every lot including the cross country/ maintenance yard area and the smaller lot across from the post office near 28. That concert was supposedly 7K. I have to wonder the impact of the bus groups on total numbers, our busiest day out last year saw parking down past the Deer Run bridge on the road and didn't remember seeing any buses, today there were at least 4 and people were parked on the road down to the exit of lots D-G.

How many k is a big day at Gore? I know apples and oranges. Some of the hiding tricks at Gore may disappear if this wierd winter coaster and 30m lodge get built at ski bowl.

I know that Coach Z wouldn’t approve (he still may lurk). But after riding the open lifts and constantly getting pelted with snow. Finishing out the day lapping an empty Gondola. Is pretty nice.
