Rip that shit.Thoughts?
Yup.The Cubco bindings did require a screw-on attachment on the ski boot.
Yup.
My first skis had Cubcos using
laceup boots to boot.
Graduated to dang Spademan bindings without a toe piece but a plate on the sole.
Walking on ice with those things was much harder than skiing using em.
Dr Spademan was a bone doctor.
Richard G. Spademan - Richard Spademan, binding inventor | Skiing History
Richard Spademan was a true believer, a man who found a better way and shared it with the world. Born in 1933 in Detroit, he skied as a teenager at Boyne and attended college and medical school at the University of Michigan. As an intern, he designed and patented a successful vascular catheter...www.skiinghistory.org
Same, that and easy to eat sh!t on the lodge stairs, hard enough for newbs in ski boots without smooth metal plates on yer soles lolI learned on Spademans. Very frustrating at first , any little bit of snow that was stuck to the bottom plate would be trouble. I have to wonder how many people got frustrated and gave up on skiing?
So ya get a patent for a binding to protect folks from breaking legs when falling skiing...Same, that and easy to eat sh!t on the lodge stairs, hard enough for newbs in ski boots without smooth metal plates on yer soles lol
That would require another patent. But they left out the slipping & sliding side effects when ya don’t have skis on for stability.![]()
Don’t know if these are compatible with Spademans. That would require another patent.
I emailed an expert and he said the Heads are worth about $225 and the Sears skis about $250What do you think? Too old and cool to cut up for a chair? Cubco bindings and the red ones say “Sears” on the sidewalls. I wonder what these would be worth to a museum or collector. Thoughts?
