Yes, heart attack could be a possibility. There are other reports however (different blog?) that he did go off the trail. Am I being overly sensitive that no mention of the incident was made in the Snow Report? Please be smart, be safe. Now I go out to clear 10 inches of snow... Yearly Snow Averages are amazing... You go natural snowless for a month, then get back on track in a single week... with more to come.

According to eye witnesses on Reddit, it happened where the trail turns and drops way off into into snow/ice boulders near the lift line/entrance to the glades. The groomed track was not as far to the skiers right as in year's past. The side of the groom was a pretty big drop off full of big snow/ice balls instead of full-width.

Very sad and tragic incident. Condolences to the family and everyone involved.

Ugh death by so called death cookies , they can be incredibly dangerous.

My worst skiing accident was hitting some death cookies at the edge of the groom at speed while at Tremblant... Had zero chance to avoid them ,flew through the air and had a helluva hard landing,but was able to recover and ski the rest of the day .

Absolutely epic day. Started on 46er maybe 6th chair up with an untracked line despite the hoards of powder hounds descending on it. Bliss. Next run JJs to Moxham. Also mostly untracked. Over to BR. Scored a mostly untracked run down Sagamore. Then saw a snowboarder take the rope out on Boreas (thanks for your service) and had the best run I've ever experienced in there. Maybe 3rd person down. Untracked everywhere. Was like I was in my own Warren Miller movie. Next up was Abenaki which was also untracked and like being in a ski movie. Barkeater next was good but had been skiied some.

Went back to the bowl for Ski Bowl Glades laps. Was excellent but tracked up a little. Did 3 before back to BR and saw Cirque was open. What a treat. Did re-laps on all the BR glades before heading up top via Tahawus glades which was wonderful.

Up top did Rumor, the double barrels, Straightbrook glades, and under the chair. Rumor was meh, everything else was good especially the bumps under the chair as always. Finished the day with a McIntyre to Tahawus glades to BR and then a Barkeater back to the bowl.

The mountain is really skiing incredible right now and the woods coverage is best I've seen after today in a while. Crazy to think we keep getting snow it's just going to keep getting better. Today was definitely in my top 10 Gore days.

...flew through the air and had a helluva hard landing,but was able to recover and ski the rest of the day ...

Had a slow motion yard sale on the bunny hill at Song earlier this season. (Ain’t bragging).
Was cutting behind the pines ya see on the web cam at Song the first day the diamond cutter was spinning.Skied up the top of a somewhat fresh whale. Stopped to look. Flat light. Saw my friend waiting at the lift. Skied down the backside of the whale till it dropped off about 3 feet straight down. Double ejection, both poles flew and the goggles ended up spun around. Tried to walk outta it but mighta face planted so laid it down on left bicep arm meat. Friend yells over, “Ya O.K.?”. Reply was, "Yep but my ego is bruised cause I just had a yard sale wipeout on the bunny hill.” It woke me up. We kept skiing. Told patrol they might wanna put a lolipop or 2 on the whale cause a large chunk was outta it. They thanked me for letting them know and said they were going right over to do it.
