Gore Mountain Conditions

a big fan of the "Anticipated" reports posted late in the afternoon the day before
That type of report only comes from someone who is as obsessed about getting out there as many of us are, which does not seem to be the case at Gore. Believe me, I’ve been coping with this fact my whole life. 😄

In the weeks leading up to a trip to Red Mtn. I got spoiled reading their hourly updates, but the difference is understandable.

The gondi parts have arrived and installation has commenced (y)
Seems like it’s been a long time to getter done.
Is Gore just trying to lose their most horizontal status.

Maybe they're trying to save on early season ops budget.
Pretty late start for upper mountain (top ridge-high peaks-straight brook).

College ⛷️ 🏂 kids outta school soon.
Hope it’s able to load safely soon.

They had to mount 3 different sets of parts( over the course of the last few weeks) because the first 2 were incorrect!

🤷‍♂️ :eek::unsure::ROFLMAO:

Supposedly the load test will be midweek next week, with the possibilty of opening to the public late next week. And of course the forecast is warm and wet next week, and mgmt has chosen the ground hog day formula of lets just blow 5 trails over and over again, so don't expect to see the summit for a while.
Thank god I have passes for other mountains... ;) ⛷️

Conditions were good today. With weekend crowds, I would think it will get scraped off pretty fast. Get there early tomorrow and Sunday.

For really only skiing 2 trails all yesterday (Showcase to lower sleighride and Sunway to Wild Air) day did 17k vert. The Showcase route was groomed very nicely for lots of morning laps and then Wild Air held up well through early afternoon. Despite some AE2 lines at times people stayed relatively spread out and it did not feel overly crowded. I assume people were on Sunway/Quicksilver.

I skied on my new Volkl Kendo 88s and they really enjoyed the groomed terrain. Very satisfied with day 2 of the season.

I skied this morning and conditions were quite good. Wild air was the pick of the day. No gondola movement that I noticed, but they knocked down the whales on fox lair so I would expect some action pretty soon.
