Gore Mountain Conditions

I have never tried the Twilight Skiing at Bowl. I am considering it for either New Years Day or Friday... I have Season Pass, Grandson has Frequent Skier Card, so that leaves buying a ticket for our adult daughter. Will the Frequent skier card even be accepted at Twilight? BUT my real question is what to expect for Crowds? Conditions? Trails? Parking? Our Grandson starts a weekly lesson plan at West next week so I do not want him to over do it and get discouraged... BTW last year I bought both my daughter and grandson Frequent cards... then they never used them. So this year I skipped the Frequent card for my daughter... and already regret it. Some years you just never win!

Forgot to ask.... I know Gore at one time had a Lower Mountain only pass. Now called Learner Pass? Probably does the carpets, Bear cub, and Sunway Chair. It might be the perfect answer for a starter trip on Friday. I kind of hate to waste a buddy pass this early in the season. Plus honestly, the grandson needs to learn his limits! $50? $60$ more?

Crowds, lol! Nope
The night skiing at The Ski Bowl is just one trail, the wide Village Slope serviced by The Village Chair (triple), which is a good beginner run, and it is well groomed.
Parking is easy and very close to the Minder Lodge, and the Village Chair

And in regards to the cost, the night skiing pass adult $35 Junior 7-12 $25, 6 and under $10

It should.

Whenever we are up, night skiing at the bowl is a family tradition on new year's eve. We will probably do it tomorrow when we get up. Sometimes it is only 30 minutes because the run is so short, but it is fun. Maybe you have to park 100 feet away. Not sure of age, but if they can get down most greens they can get down the ski bowl. The most challenging part is the first 30 feet that has a steeper green pitch.

Website says Straightbrook is fixed.

But at this time yesterday it said Open Pit and Headwaters would be open today…anyone know if they ever dropped those ropes?

I came down to lower mountain at 11 to help some friends with three first time skiers under 13. First time on a magic carpet in a few years! Nice to be reminded by lots of smiles that Gore has a pretty great beginner program and some great instructors.

The lift was never open to the public today, so no the trails did not open.
Hoping that “fix” is not just a band aid…🙏

When they put this on the top of the website in purple, you know people were not happy today

My senior pass renewal at around $250 is a bargain... the 2 buddy passes for my adult daughter actually nearly covers the cost. As for myself I usually get in 12 to 15 days at Gore, plus 2 or 3 at Whiteface. We even do a Fall gondola trip... I must say it is always amazing to me when I see a family of 2 adults and 2 kids on rental equipment getting lessons as well. Add lodging and meals, it might cost $1500 or more for a day of skiing. Probably $2000+ for a 1 time weekend ski outing. Sadly most will not become repeat skiers. Locally West Mt claims they can not survive without a huge development including ski in/out homes, condos, a hotel, and retail plaza? Recently went to upgrade from my soft boots... and they tried to upsell me to $500 rear entry boots! I got back into skiing to encourage our grandson. But once he crosses the 12 year old barrier skiing will be EXPENSIVE ! Makes you wonder what the ski industry's future is.

I’d still like to get a touring setup.
Have some old waxless cross country skis sitting in the basement.
Touring skis like they are now weren’t really around then.
It 🏂 ⛷️ can be simpler.
Might even lap the rope tow Monday for a bit for fun to get warmed up.
