The Sand Trap: for Players, Hackers and Duffers

Been having some fun golfing when it’s not been raining.
Course dried out some and had some decent for me scores recently.

Worse shots come from downhill side hill lies but occasionally every now and then one of them gets hit correctly. Gonna take a lesson one of these days. It’ll my first formal golf instruction since I took it as PE class at Potsdam from Jerry Welch.

Been mainly walking but when it’s too hot took a cart. Fun times.

Scotty played about as well as one could and stayed mentally tough when it counted . Great future

Ya called it Mr Warp. (Other than the arrest at last year's PGA)

A friend gave me his book “Scottie Scheffler" to read last week.
Didn’t know he was from Jersey and left at the age of 5 after 9-11 when the family moved to Dallas. Joined the course where Speith learned to play. The golf instructor there saw the kid play and Scottie got his lessons for free.

On to Oakmont for The US Open.
Pittsburg tain’t Texas though.

Played upRiver inland course this am .Nice day but windy ,shot a 40 thanks to the short game

My driving was anemic today should have used 2 H off the tee and kept the trajectory lower in this stiff breeze.

Thankfully except for one penalty the rest went ok . Had to bump n run from inside 50yds to two greens with a choked 4H tho when it got turbulent

Cold today 56, but got best round of the season at Upriver course a 38 .

Thrill of the day a 31footer for a bird on a par 5.

But had another darn double bogie I gambled tried to cut the corner on Dogleg and take it over the pond kerplunk

I upped ya on doubles. Ended the round with a trifecta of em. Coulda been a contender but had 83. Found the traps on 2 outta the last 3 and chunked a 9 iron on 17. Was the best ball striking of the year. Had lots of makable birdie putts but none dropped. Friend whose 98 had 85 from the gold tees. He played well. Fun day to walk.

Upper 60s to low 70s with light east wind. Twas downright pleasant.
The 98 year old wore a jacket and long pants. Was his first full 18 of the year.
He’s amazing.

That guy is seriously skilled ,I mean first of all doing 18 at 98 is incredible but an 85 is amazing
