I spent this past week in Bentonville for the Trails Conference. It’s an interesting place with a ton of money being thrown at mountain bike trail development. Here’s some photos.

It’s pretty awesome but they can’t fix the geology. No matter how much Walmart money is spent Arkansas will remain vertically challenged.

As the trail networks here along the NY/NJ boarder continue to redevelop there is very little motivation for me to do much traveling to ride.

Folks ride their cars so they can ride their bikes?

I'm glad that just between Bentonville and Knoxville we can keep everyone I know who builds professionally employed, that pretty much the extent of my stoke for NWA. As the trail networks here along the NY/NJ boarder continue to redevelop there is very little motivation for me to do much traveling to ride.

I feel that. After this past month I’m about done for a good while traveling for anything beyond work.

Even if you’re a big traveler the gas prices right now are brutal.

Got a week of business meetings and work travel across the country all next week. California is nicer than northern NJ this time of year but when all that time is spent sitting inside listening to someone talk I'd rather be home.

@tirolski it's remarkable how much time people spend in cars to ride a bicycle, I consider myself very fortunate to be able to pedal to a trailhead from my front door. Makes me extra lazy when it comes to riding that requires time behind the wheel.

Just like skiing I like to try different areas.
I am lucky to have rode and skied all over the country. I’m happy to say that northern nj / ny has some of the best riding in the country.

If you can fly in to the area it’s totally worth a visit.

But the NY/NJ area does look good.
