Black Fly Season

I was wondering if any locals can let me know if the black flies have arrived yet. I’m thinking of heading up to chestertown next week. But if the flies are there I’ll wait until June.

Not up there, but I had always seen the bugs around May 7. Last few years it did seem earlier.

Not quite Chestertown but spent the first week in June in the moose river plains twice... Never again... They actually have a black fly bike race. Guess the idea is to outrun the black flies?

I've always waited until after July 4th

Labor Day works best if ya go back in the woods. Once it gets hot there’s lots less of em. Until then they usually win.

Not yet. Its just a matter of a few warm days. Its getting close
