Your Greatest Day, Snow Edition

Drifting... Maybe a special thumb thread. Kidding. Or a thread about fun, interesting and unusual interactions ( ex trading good beer for great smoked tuna).
On topic in recent years skied an old T line on a powder day. The old hanging T bars made for creative and fun slalom.

Just here to point out that without thread drift the internet would dramatically contract with thousand of jobs lost.
Agreed. Also, if any thread ever was a good place for storytelling thread drift this would seem to be the one. Bring on your greatest stories!!

Not the greatest day, but memorable. Forty years ago tomorrow 1980 . Opening day at Sugarbush, John Lennon was shot the night before and that was on everyones mind when the old gondola opened. My buddy Pete jumped into the first car and I got in the next. My new companions lit up fat one and off we went. On top I went skiers left to Paradice , not a track in sight. The wind ridges were stacked coming up to the drop, I kept my speed and turned into the fall line through thigh deep bliss. STUMP ...DON'T HIT THE STUMP .......I hit the stump. I knew it was bad. Skied on one foot to the bottom. My last run of ski bum youth.

worst powder day ever. Jan 30, 1990. Frank Sinatra opens the new Albany arena. I am chasing foot of powder, either bromely or straton. mind isn't what it use to be. my buddys jog left, i jog right. drop into this little shoot and go head over heals. jam wrist. after a few runs its apparent i am headed to the bar. i did not drive and no way is anyone leaving to drive my sorry ass home. the bartender wont serve me without an ID. argument quickly erupts. i say look buddy, who the f&C* is in the bar this early on a powder day? give me a bud and bag of ice. promptly kicked out of bar. later that night i have to drive my parents to the sinatra show. pull the car in front of arena, go to open door for my mom and slip on ice. land right on bum wrist. great day
