Yo. Plattekill this February?

Because we've never seen a 60 inch base in those woods, or in any trees in NY for that matter, I guess we take more chances. That pic of Chris in OZ was one of the deepest days I've been out in those woods, maybe a 40 inch base. Two or three big storms on top of a solid base, we never found bottom. That said, those lines in my pics are not maintained, so the danger is probably higher.

I'll ski whatever you want. If there is snow, it will be great.

And I’m happy to go around and be called wimpy. That doesn’t bother me at all. If it’s hitting though Ill ski whatever. I think I’ve been put off before by people that expect something from me when I’m not really into it.

My 50+ inch rules here are because of beetle kill and stacked dead fall. I’ve seen dozens of friends get season ending injuries (femurs and tib-fib breaks) after being impatient and too excited early season.

I’ve also had minor hair line fractures on my shin from hitting a hidden stump once. That was incredibly painful.

For some reason I’m feeling good about eastern snowfall this year.

I understand completely. If we left debris laying around like that at Plattekill, we’d never get to ski

Funny AF you just said that.i just got back from a party with all my ski buddies. They were all asking me if I was skiing this year, I said I'm not saying yes and I'm not saying no. Then I told them if I go I'm skiing what I want to and I don't give a F what any of you say!!! LoL

I like having un-broken legs. I don't sit on my tails and ski light so I don't ski thin conditions where fresh snow is likely just hiding dangerous obstacles.
Ooof. I went full charge into some deadfall in Big Sky once. I was by myself, double ejecto flying somersault action. Never saw it coming.

We understand if you wuss out. There’s always a nice groomer to the bar.
