Yo. Plattekill this February?

This ^^ is half of the required miracle., RA/Cody coming east. Next we'd need snow, ideally enough so that the side country is in play. If that were to happen, my guess is that the rest of the required elements (Sean and/or Chris) would probably fall into place without much trouble.

Any idea about the dates? Fri, Sat or Sunday unless you are thinking about President's Week. Holidays are not a bad thing at Plattekill.

That looks awesome!

We don’t have to have #alltimeconditions to have fun but we don’t want to ski in the rain or rock hard ice like after a rain to freeze event/MF cycle.

No dates yet. We just started the conversation but we definitely need to come out and see Cody’s Great Grandma this year.
I’m going to try and pursued them to do the trip during the ski season.

I did a few ski safaris in NY and New England in 2013-19 when my daughter was in school up north. Can be fun with a little flexibility from early Jan through mid-March. Obviously early and late season conditions depends on Mother Nature.

Keep in mind that the entire week after Pres. Day is a school vacation week for NY and MA. That means not only is the Pres. Day weekend busy, so is the rest of the week and midweek tickets may be holiday rates. The Plattekill voucher for a free ski day for folks who help out during the Work Day in the fall is blacked out that week for good reason.

I learned to ski on this hill in the late 1960s. My daughter switched to tele when she was at NCS.

88-89? I’m not totally sure.

Is it the year for the east? It sure would be sick to hit it while it’s firing.

I don’t know if I’ll rally those trees the way you guys do. I’m very careful and have been spoiled with 100 inch bases.
Maybe I can lend you some rock skis. What size shoe do you wear?

I'm not worried about my skis as much as my knees. I like having un-broken legs. I don't sit on my tails and ski light so I don't ski thin conditions where fresh snow is likely just hiding dangerous obstacles. My rule out here is to not ski in the trees until the base is about 60+ inches or an extremely solid 50. Even at 50-60 inch base I'll only ski fresh in an area that I'm current season familiar with or I let it get skied out before I venture in to explore. I really don't have fun tip toe skiing, it just stresses me out.

I have had some very painful run-ins with stumps and rocks before.

I'd totally check out yer lines but if it makes me uncomfortable don't be surprised if I go around.
