Yes You Need Snow Tires

I hope you are kidding. I thought it was funny.
• My neighbor Bob had an accident even after putting on winter tires.

Made me laugh out loud, I thought it was all very funny. My level of sarcasm is generally not compatible with the internet, I don't take much seriously.

North country vs. flat landers, a divide no politician wants to touch.
The Upstate thread adresses that dichotomy appropriately.
We don’t need stinkin politicians on here to get involved in our business.
We can figure out dividin-lines ourselves, it’s more fun.

Reporting from past weekend snowstorm and this morning icy roads experience around North Creek. New all-weather (3 mountain peaks rated) General Altimax 365 AW tires on Subaru Ascent exceeded expectations. Controlled and confident acceleration, breaking and cornering.

With the summer tires, someone needs to walk in front of my Miata with a broom to swipe every last snowflake from the road, but it's pretty good with the winter tires, way better than my Mom's Country Squire with retread snows on the back only.
A few years ago I used to see a Miata with Connecticut plates at Sugarbush and Mad River Glen almost every time I went up there. It looked like he drove with the top down too. I'll take my mine to Gore sometime this season.

Here you go Milo. Rip it!

In the same category, I've been running Nokian Outpost ATPs on my Ridgeline for a year now. So far, so good. They come in weighing on par with the OEM all-seasons, so mileage isn't affected, much (deeper tread does add some drag), and they've been really good in all of the driving I've been doing, snow, summer, rain(!), etc.
