XXIV Winter Olympic Games

Yeah, she went through a lot, but what about that guy who froze his dick? That’s some real hardship:

Lowest rated ever

I've been watching The Winter Olympics since 1960 the first year they were widely televised. This Olympics were the absolute Worst I've seen .The skiing venues were dystopian ,the degree of chicanery in drug screening was out of control ergo the cheating was rampant.

The gulag conditions and lack of both acculturation and ambiance for both athletes and coaches was horrible.
Much needs to change and hopefully Cortina / Milano gets it right.

Frankly IMHO Russia should be permanently banned after this debacle

My personal Diggins story: for several years, the Climb to the Castle roller ski race coincided with a US Ski Team training camp in LP. Diggins, then the young phenom, was warming up and came in hot to the turn up to the toll gate. She overshot it and crashed into a ditch. I thought for sure she was headed to the emergency room. She got up, dusted herself off, and finished 5th.

Jesse Diggins has my utmost respect , she is a true champion in every way .

FWIW : i thought Mikala Shiffrin handled herself extremely well with the media . hell anybody can be a gracious winner , the REAL proof of a person is how they handle defeat and whther they can recognize that without the media their fame does not exist . It IS a synbiotic relationship

So Shiffrin taking time to be honest about her feelings , yet using it to motivate herself to pick up the pieces in her words "Again , Again and Again "

I loved her positive message to the haters and arm chair couch potatoes who lack the guts to even try to understand the risks involved in this sport yet open their ignorant yaps to criticize the best female skier .

These ignorant fools do not know what they do not know, yet speak as if they know exposing their ignorance for all to see. She simply got up on her skis and tried her damndest and for that she earned our respect . Her records speak for themselves

In the closing “ceremony" when they played Beethoven’s Ode to Joy, for some reason my mind had a flashback to Kubrik’s A Clockwork Orange. It seemed to make more sense when seen thru that lens.

It won’t take much for the shitshow to improve.
Events in Tirol events should be fine.
Food’ll be better.
There used to be unannounced strikes a lot in the cities so shows in Milan and the other cities could be tricky.
The IOC most likely should know who to pay off so it might just be fine.
