Winter Weather 23/24

seeing this pic from Snowbird pushed me over the edge...then they drive a 45 mins home to their snowless yards and have a bbq and beer..

I was just at the bird last Thursday through Monday for the first time. It was incredible. Never had so much steep stuff to ski and conditions were excellent. I want to go back as soon as I can. A nice bonus was as Jason mentioned being able to bbq and beer down in the valley after in a short and T shirt and full on winter up the canyon.

Maybe jamesdeluxe can help with translation.
Great clip. I love the two skiers at 1:09 in their vintage outfits/equipment:

Reminds me of the billboard for Grasgehren along the German/Austrian border:

Just noting how Jason gets to bitch from both sides of the fence -- bemoans the East and rhapsodizes about Utah ^^, while grumbling elsewhere that SLC has become a zoo for skiers and he's done with it.

It's all about the complainin'. 😁

Can’t understand much of what they’re saying but if a picture tells a thousand words some of those old videos are gems. Came across the video when going down the Paula Wiesinger rabbit hole. She mighta won gold at the Olympics in Lake Placid in ’32 if they had alpine events for it. Olympics alpine events started in the ’36 Olympics.

Of course, being retired has advantages.

My point was meant as a counterpoint to speculation from two weeks ago that "winter is over."

Weather is weather, and winter is certainly a possibility in March, in NY.
