The clouds are killing me. Hopefully the sun over performs this weekend and next week.NNJ - Feb 2, 1:52pm, temp 43F, full clouds. We have not seen the sun since Saturday and that was only at the very top of Stratton. This whole week in NNJ has been under full cloud cover.
It's got to be killing the businesses in the old forge region. We used to do a couples snowmobile trip in January in the area but haven't done it in 6 years. Gave up because of unreliable snow. My buddies have rented houses up there for years to ride. After so many low snow winters and crappy trails, I think they are throwing in the towel after this year.F it
I'm going to embrace the nice weather. If it starts snowing again, fine. I'll embrace that too!
I will say that our crew will not be renting our house in FoPo next year. This is the 3rd year in a row where the riding has sucked. It's definitely too bad because it's a great time, and I feel bad for the dude we rent the house from.
We all do what we ca lol. My son moved out of the house in the spring so I figured I'd better buy a snowblower since I wouldn;t have his help any more. I decided not to figuring it would snow to be the band this season but...Oh well next year I'm dropping my driveway plowing contract. $350 for 3 plows last year and 4 so far this year. Hopefully that will help insure a snowier winter next year
It definitely is. Personally I'm not a fan of riding in OF, but I love riding in the other regions of the ADK. Businesses are def feeling the lack of riders. Many long time businesses have closed. The clouds are killing me. Hopefully the sun over performs this weekend and next week.

Six more weeks of winter! For whistle pigs I prefer my 22-250. Take em out from a long way away.
