Rick Wilcox the “Wizard” said these exact words to me once. He had just returned from his 1991 summit of Everest. I had skied Hillman’s Highway with a buddy of mine and we were watching a guide come down Lion Head with a group. It was super nasty up there. We stopped in at IME in North Conway and talked to Rick who couldn’t believe we were up there. That place is no joke.

Yeah, cold up there for a few days but if you look at their Jan 23 Stats its been ridiculously warm, only 4 days that were even below zero and it was only minus 13 at the lowest. 10 Degrees above average for the month. Crazy stuff for sure.
