But, wait! There's more! Sub zero wind chill in CNY through mid day Sunday. Seriously??? Why do we get the craptastic weather on the weekends and nice ski days during the week???

The cold stuff IS the nice weather. It stayed in the single digits all day yesterday on the mountain, and it was perfect.

Apparently, I have completely acclimated to the cold. I skied for a couple hours this morning. The sun was out, and it was quite nice for 12 degrees and -5 wind chill.

I don't know, partly sunny and 28° Sunday, sounds like excellent ski weather to me.

It's looking like things will be a bit warmer. Tomorrow should be great!

How often does Gore do better than SoVT?

When the storm comes in from the southwest and enough cold air is in place it can and did for this one.
As ya can observe on yer radar shot above the dividing line for a lot of snow was pretty narrow.
