I wasn’t going to bring this up
Better that you did
LOL

I'm contiplating taking the rest week off. Trails open up tomorrow at sunset, they will be virgin. We've been riding our outlaw trails system, private land that we have permission to ride on and maintain the trails. We'll be starting over come Thursday so, like skiing, gotta go when you can make the time. BRAP!!!

There is a scrap of hope after the deluge at the end of the long term.

NWS ALY

.LONG TERM /WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY/...

Another storm system may approach from the southwest for Monday,
although there is significant uncertainty regarding potential track,
low level thermal profiles and resulting impacts to the region. At
this time, have introduced chance PoPs for Monday-Monday night, with
a rain/snow mix in valleys and mainly snow for higher terrain areas
Monday, possibly changing to all snow Monday night,
although again,
specific details on P-type and amounts remain highly uncertain.

50 degrees and heavy rain. A parting kick to the groin by 2020.....is anyone really surprised?!
Last year we were skiing in powder in early December, and by 12/15 we were skiing in mud and ice. Climate change is only going to make our winters more erratic.

This is not what you want:

There some slim hope in the long term forecast, but it is so slim, IMO, I'm going to hold off on posting it for now. The Monday-Tuesday event is probably mixed (starting wet and MAYBE turning) and there is another event for next Thursday.

I'll keep watching it.

Harv
the reality is 1-4" of rain accompanied by very strong winds, maybe gusts exceeding 70mph..Then of course followed by very cold air..

This is the reality of skiing in the East. Unfortunately, we're facing reality more often with climate change.
