Who's on the DL?

So the cable on my Scarpa broke.

I'm a crazy man. I've had a brand new pair of boots in the backseat of my car for 3 years in case I ever had any kind of failure.

The piece of luck is that I actually just had the moldable liners, on those news boots molded like a week ago, so i'm actually able to use them today.

Brand new tele boots are really stiff in the bellows, which is honestly kind of what I need right now for my foot. I'm not gonna do a teleturn at a resort all year this year anyway, so they should stay somewhat stiff.

I'm trying to ski them now. It's really weird to go from a boot that's 5 years old to one, that's absolutely brand new. It's quite a transition.

I did one run with one old boot, and one new boot, and that was really a mindblow.

Holy crap, I have my head so far up my ass, I missed the "this summer" part.

I went to get the herniated disk fixed this summer and ended up getting open heart surgery instead.

This increases the mad respect I already have for you man. I'm serious.

...Suppose to get the other one done if the this week’s post op checkup goes fine. So far so good.
Looked into Lasik several years ago but they said to wait till cattractks worsened...
Not supposed to even drive.
Post-op checkup showed eye healing well and am allowed to shovel snow again.
Whooh dang digiggity dog whooh.
Next one scheduled for next week then nap hibernation times begin again.
Hope to be cleared for ⛷️ turns by The New Year.
Make some nice turns for me till then.
Have fun Stay safe.

Is the old boot easily repaired?
They’re very nice boots.

I broke a boot at Gore in some bumps years ago at the top after a blizzard.
Ski buddy cobbed it back together somehow in the parking lot.
Back up for more Gore we went.
Fun day.

Went to a neighbors bonfire last night. Pretty much everyone there was a nordic skier.

I was speaking with Dick, he's older than me (70?) and has been nordic skiing for many decades.

He told me about his knee issues and I told him about my foot.

He told me it was crazy that I wasn't taking creatine, and also strongly recommend PT.

Does anyone have experience with creatine? Recommended? Is there any difference between brands?

I don't know anything about creatine. Physical therapy might be useful. A good PT will address the cause of pain.
