Where are you skiing this week?

Did you ever ride the red gondola? It was great if you were alone with your girlfriend, but it was like a 35 minute ride.

Yup. With my sister on one trip. She liked the lower lifts better but going up over the big abyss to the top was worth it.
And earlier with 3 high school friends when we lost the muffler, one was female.
I found an old pic or 2 but I’ll have to dig them out again.

My current plan is for Killington on Saturday. They have 4 enclosed lifts and tend to be aggressive about running them in inclement weather.

I want to go to Whiteface on Sunday for The Wilmington Trail, but there could be wind issues.

Who's taking this weekend off, who's skiing the cold? Where are you skiing?

Sunday could work for me, when I've just got a day, it's probably Plattekill. Looks like 36°F.

I'm going mountain biking in Kingman with a Flagstaff buddy of mine.

It's supposed to be 65, calm and sunny. I'm looking forward to that. It's been an extremely cold two months here. I love skiing but camping and working in the cold really wares me down.

Was planning to ski at Killington on Saturday, but they just gave up on running most of their lifts, including 2 of their 3 gondolas. They claim they needed to "consolidate their operations for safety" but not running all of their enclosed lifts seems more like a cost saving measure to me. First choice is now Gore for Saturday. If that doesn't work out I'll go to Belleayre.

How cold is it going to be on Friday and Saturday out there?

That kind of cold is dangerous. I've backed off from plenty of ski tours because it scares me. A wrong move can easily domino into a really bad time.

It's a working weekend for me. I guess it's not the worst one to be missing...
