What are your goals for the 2020/21 ski season?

I'm certainly not sure what's possible.

To start I am going to aim high:
  • 30 days (normal 35) including lifts, Vandy WF, Siamese Wilderness, our property
  • 5+ powder days
  • Midweek
  • Gore, Plattekill, McCauley, Snow Ridge, Greek, WF
  • 2+ new mountains in New York
  • 1+ extended period (week) staying at our cabin, during a snowy cycle

Minimum:
  • Lift served season not cancelled
  • Travel to NY allowed

Good times with Cody.

Hopefully some powder skiing. This is getting harder with being a working guy now. The 18/19 season was my last year getting to be a ski bum. I probably won’t be skiing that strong for a long time, if ever. That does get me down a little.

Keeping my expectations low hoping they will be exceeded. Hoping our Bristol beer league happens and may do a couple of Masters races. IKON will probably be deferred until next year.

Seriously, I'd be happy just to ski. I just heard Bill Gates say that peak cases and death will occur Jan. And Feb.. He's smart, and can do math. That does not bode well for the season. So, day trips to Hunter to downhill ski, since I got the cheap midweek Epic pass, and Catamount or Windham or Mohawk in Ct. to skin inbounds and get some exercise outdoors. Realistically, my goal is to skin uphill at least ten times just to see if that is something I even like. (Never ever jong)
Certainly no flights anywhere, and overnights look difficult, at best, if it all doesn't shut down anyway. Living in a hotel room, eating all meals there, and then sheltering in the car at the mountain just doesn't sound like much fun. There's gotta be seriously fun conditions out there to make that worthwhile. Play it by ear, and, if the clouds part, I'd like to get up to Jay Peak, especially if the Canadian border is still closed, or Saddleback/Sugarloaf, just to get away from people. Only in an Airbnb with a kitchen and cable, though.

I really really wanted to go to the Dolomites this year. This sucks.

Warning Benny, skinning uphill isn’t exactly fun, especially to ski down a groomer at catamount.

now going uphill for a completely untracked line in some beautiful back country? Is incredible.

Right now I'll hope for 10 days. Willard is right down the road from me, and days trips to Oak and McCauley. Going big would be Gore I guess. If the itch is strong I'll do some midweek laps at night at Willard. I highly doubt VT will be in play.

The good news is next season looks good, with even the most healthy people fully vaccinated by Q4 2021.

Recovering from first major injury/surgery (femur).
Hoping to work my 1 shift/week at the local and solo day-trips to local Indy resorts, and hopefully ski with friends as if it were not 2020.
Usually get 40-ish ski days.
Already booked xmas week in MT and that is not looking likely or wise now.

Right now, I just hope I don't have to cancel the New Year's trip to Lake Placid.

The way my work schedule is at present, I may be able to get some mid-week "weekends" in. Depending on what happens with the virus, if I get 15 days I guess I'm happy.

I'm hoping we have the option to ski

I'll be riding sled regardless

Nothing happens for me until mid Dec any_A_ways. Deer season is here!
