This map is pretty cool. We'd have to drive west to insure we see totality. Blue Mountain?

sugarbush, stowe, whiteface and for the most part gore
that said there is totality every day between 8;30pm and 5am ish

I think the ski resorts are gonna be a costly PITA. Jay Peak is already booking hotel rooms and tram rides with no opportunity to ski after the eclipse.
The best spot is gonna be a hikeable mountain with good views all around, especially to the SW. Somewhere in the High Peaks?

I think Gore is on the edge of the totality. Maybe only a few minutes. Can you park at the trailhead in April? Can you ski there from the Ski Bowl if they add the out of bounds gate they were talking about?

What are we looking for exactly? Just a prominence in the path? Does it need to face southwest?

Being in the Rochester area so I'm right in the bullseye unless I decide to travel and miss it.

Here's a few photos of the total eclipse just after we landed in Nashville 2017. It's 1:30pm no clouds blocking, just the moon. You could see stars but they didn't show on my old smartphone.
