Top 3 Best Lifts in NYS?

Hey anyone what are the best pods in Western or Central NY? Song's Thunderbird?

Also let's hear about this.
Best at Lab is Ptarmigan double but it doesn’t appear to get turned on much anymore. Always made most of my runs there when it's on. For ya tree skiing lovers there’s a glade area in play to the south once enough snow comes.

Good on you for choosing lifts for less skilled skiers. Gore is way worse for novices when the AE2 doesn't run, but I'd still take the North quad over the AE2 on your list. Tahawus and Sleeping Bear are among the last old school narrow twisting quiet trails around for intermediate skiers.

Hickory and Bobcat were among my favorites too. Add the High Peaks double to the bummer list.

I was close on the North Quad as it has awesome green and low blue terrain. I left it off because, for green skiers, it is tough to load (although the lift crew is always excellent and are quick to slow it down) and the off ramp is intimidating. I totally agree about Tahawus/Sleeping Bear and Pete Gay is a green gem that usually has cord at the end of the day.

North Chair 2pm (weekday but hey)

Also let's hear about this.
Chair 2 has those cool erector set towers and like Brownski says some great tree skiing.

There was this day about a year ago....

And when there’s enough snow, this line rocks!

Chair 4 is great for all the reasons Camp says basically. Plus if your skiing it in the morning, you can time it when patrol drops the rope at the top of Mars Hill and get first tracks down to the bottom of the triple either on some fresh pow or fresh corduroy!

Chair 2 used to go all the way to the bottom. There was also a cool tunnel you would ski through to get to it. Like Joneski I too like that rip right under the chair. I think it's called Atlas? There's also a spot where we would jump off 2 as kids just cause. Chair 2 is also where I found out I liked So Co as well.

Another vote for Chair 2 at Greek. Especially for the years after I turned 14...1976. It was a 15 minute ride from the very bottom to the top, and most of it wasn't lit very well, and the rest of it was not lit at all. Good times.

More seriously, I still enjoy the terrain under and off Chair 4. Otherwise, the old chair over Cascades at Killington was fun for the crashes you saw underneath. Last time I did Killington was about 1990.

My all time favorite.... was a combination of two lifts. First you rode the long gondola from the parking lot and then a chair to the peak of Stubai Glacier in Austria... Then you skied from the peak back to the bottom of the gondola. It was close to 10 miles of blue and black diamond. Most of it was marked Ski Rt 13...If you had all day from 8 am to dark, took a break for a fantastic European lunch, I think you could easily do 6 runs. Your legs would be dead at 6 runs... Man the legs burned.
