Today's Ride

How did the battery deal with the cold
Just fine but it seems to use a bit more battery in the cold. I used 35% battery for 17.5 miles and 600 ft ascent. Ran the motor in low Eco for 56% of the ride and trail mode for 44%.

I do remove the battery and keep it inside as well as charge it inside. Removal and reinstall is simple and fast. Just have to turn the bike over and remove the connector from the bike, remove 1 hex and pull. You definitely don't want the battery stored below freezing. I also bring the bike inside the night before a ride to keep the motor warm. I don't think that's necessary but that's what I do.

The tires at 2.6" are a bit wider than my Stumpy 2.3 and do quite well. I think I could fit a bit wider tire like a 2.8 or even 3". I'm researching that.

I use a neoprene wrap when it’s cold.

For longer trips when it’s super cold I swap out an extra battery that’s wrapped in an Ororo heated mat stored in an insulated cooler bag. I use the same Ororo batteries to power a heated vest and charge electronics if needed. The vest has heated pockets that I use to store and charge extra bike lights, headlamp, phone, etc.
