Today's Ride

Whew! Good thing those cones were there or you might have drowned.
I took that pic right after I just barely made it through alive!

It's deeper than you think! Deeper than I thought.

I thought the image was representative of the eastern season to date.

And a couple weeks ago I was sure you guys were having a historically rad winter. Ugh.

A weakness in Vail's Epic strategy.
It’s feature not a bug.
They already have folks' pass $.
It’s part of their $trategy and why they hardly mention snow.
Many folks who booked will go spend $ on lodging, FB & ancillary attachment$.
They saved $ on the plow bill so far this season for their parking lots as well.

I guarantee these big corps are already expecting and planning for the very snow-less future or whatever is forecasted.

If these more erratic and unstable weather patterns are the future it's becoming pretty darn obvious how unsustainable the majority of the ski industry will become. there will still be skiing they say, sure! But it's not going to be affordable for the majority of us.

How about levelin the snowmakin playin field for the smaller bumps in NYS?
Throw em a bone to upgrade to more efficiencies.

Most folks who ski in NYS don’t live anywhere near ORDA’s bigger bumps.
There’d be less CO2 from driving a long ways too.

Nope and Im definitely not.

It sucks everywhere in North America for snow right now.

Desert mountain biking is hitting though.
Meanwhile, Tara Geraghty-Moats (biathlete) posted about a 27- mile xc ski sesh in Austria that was basically 1 gigantic loop. 😩
