Today's Ride

Ha she probably just looked at me and suspected I had bad wheels.

She basically said everytime you stand up on your hardtail to save your derrier from getting hammered, you are putting weight on your knees. Been thinking about it as I ride, it seems legit.

If your knees hurt from riding
Change your saddle position.
Up/down
Forward

Full suspension will not help imo

Even riding a full sups your still up on your feet if your riding right. Attack position!
Does the susp reduce impact on your knees when you stand?

Now i need a thread for what bike to buy. Not yet. 1 year.

harv from the biking pics you post, the terrain you ride is relatively mellow and pretty flat. If you were riding sustained downhills say 500 vrt or more, where you might be standing for a extending amount of time. Then a full sus might reduce the impact..

Yes I agree my bike is fine for the next 18 months. Maybe after that TBD.

It is flat here but the single track on my ride, about 2 miles total, has a lot of roots, in places. That's what gets me on my feet.

On the gravel (most of it) and the pavement (10%) full suspension sucks, I assume?

Full suspension has come a long way. You can lock shocks out with a click.
Have Jason pick you out a bike. He knows what he is talking about and he is what's the word... Frugal lol.
