Today's Hike

It looks bad but it felt sturdy underfoot.

This defunct bathroom is very close to where the Ski Road meets Seven Lakes Drive but they have no parking signs everywhere. They could put probably a dozen cars here if they painted some slanted lines on the pavement. Wasted opportunity. They seem to discourage people from utilizing this part of the park.

It’s a short walk up the road to the parking lot.

This is it, less than five miles and about a six hundred foot climb. No biggie.

Harriman SP is incredible. Thanks for all of the photos Brownski. I grew up going there as my uncle was a park ranger and lived in a house along Seven Lakes Drive. His son, my cousin is now living in that house and working for the park.

The last time I want on a bushwhack there I found half a dozen ticks on me. that was probably in 1993. I have visited since though. A great memory was going hiking up that old ski area. I drove a handful of friends of mine there in my 94 Jeep Wrangler with the top down and the doors off. It's a fantastic memory, on the way back I had my shoes off as I drove, the wind felt amazing and we puffed down several joints that I had rolled before we had left. I remember turning up the volume as Helmets Unsung came up on the radio. I was 19 years old and it was 1995. We were young and everything felt so free and exciting.
