The Indy Pass

I'm looking to redeem an Indy Pass day on a day trip this week. I had plans to meet a friend in NH to ski Cannon but it's not looking to be worth the long trip given current conditions. Candidates are all of the ones within a couple hours of me: West, Catamount, Mohawk (never been there), Berkshire East, Magic, and Snow Ridge. I feel like I want to wait for some decent snow to use a day at Magic or Snow Ridge. Most likely it will be Catamount or Mohawk. If conditions are going to be significantly better with a bit longer trip, I'd consider Titus or going back to Greek Peak to use my second day there. Suggestions?

I share your reservations about burning a Magic day too soon but don’t sleep on Berkshire East. They have solid snowmaking so might be good to go. And Catamount, despite the growing pains, might be ready by now. I think they’re flying under the radar this year on purpose. Check the conditions reports is my advice.

If you plan a trip to Cannon don't overlook Waterville Valley. Did a trip last march to both with the third daying being at what we thought was the best of two. Waterville had much better conditions and coverage than Cannon. Hadn't been to Waterville before and really liked it.
Just be aware that there is $10 bag check fee so if you want to avoid it boot up at your car.

Titus got more snow out of the last storm than maybe anyone in NY. What day(s) are you skiing?

Have you skied Titus before?

You want low density ,great snow and retro vibe ......ya know like yer own private Idaho ......one word. go shake hands with Titus Teddy

Thanks for the thoughts on this. I've been to Titus, just once, had a great day. It's a priority for me to get there at least one day this season, and it still could be that I'll go for a longer day and try to do that this week.

I will probably be aiming for Thursday, but might switch to Wednesday if weather and other commitments make that look like the better option.

Massanutten has free cubbies and computerized In/Out All Day lockers on the bottom floor of the main lodge. Also pay lockers in the building where people rent skis/boards.

$3 bag check at Cannon, but plenty of people left their bags outside on the deck yesterday
When we used to take our ski trips I paid to check my bag everywhere. For xxxx amount of dollars my shit is safe. I'd never just leave it unattended. Shit, spare gear is 100's of dollars to replace. No thanks.

As part of an Indy ski safari I felt perfectly comfortable leaving my boot bag in a cubby at Catamount last season. My friends and I left our boot bags under a table at Berkshire East over MLK weekend. Also at West Mountain. Seemed to be what most locals did.
