The Garage Thread: Tractors and UTVs

The Kubota B3030 Cab that I traded my Kioti CK 30 (which was a physically larger tractor than the Kubota even though they have the same HP) was just too small to deal with the pushing and the moving the snow banks back, so I pulled the trigger on this. Hoping for delivery in June

I agree this is a great thread. Making my way through it again, on about page 12, it's gold. Thanks all.

we are talking about a region that gets 100" of snow on a fantastic season...And it's not all at once...

This season (as reported by Gore) total snowfall was 145" at the base and the three biggest snowfalls were 24, 16 and 24 inches. Those three storms probably required a pretty robust solution.

Still not going to decide for quite a while but a fun size UTV with a plow and/or blower with pro backup remains the thinking for year 1. If I have to park at the bottom of the drive three times that year it won't be the end of the world.

This is (was, RIP) my main man Roger Freebern on Valentine's Day 2007 clearing 40 inches of new snow. Can any tell how big this FORD tractor is from this pic?

Looks like a 30 or 40hp. Maybe a Ford model 1920?

Thanks. I'm thinking maybe it was a 1720?

24, 16 and 24 inches

Thinking about it, those two 24 inch storms fell over a couple days.

In that pic above Roger plowed the full 40 inches, at one time, a couple days after the storm.
